Hi,
I read lately an article on Hakin9 on USB dumping, the article was interesting but not technical enough. A friend of mine just bought a U3 USB key, so I decided to have some fun with it!
I was wandering how is it possible to change the autorun of the USB drive (it is firmware baseed) to launch whatever program I'd like.
There is no topic on USB hacking on the whole forum, so if you have any tips or tricks , this could be the right place for it!
Looking forward for your answers and suggestions!!

The U3 smart drive simulates a CD-ROM drive, that is how you get the autorun. To change the program that is going to be ran, you must change the image of the "CD-ROM". Following the instructions from the link above, you can fool the U3 smart update tool into downloading and installing your own .iso image instead with your own programs.

Eh... then simply don't buy a U3 smart drive, it will cost you less

Gifts, or found drives don't give you that option.
And I have often seen the U3 drives as cheaper then the regular ones (More often on sale). Plus, some brands and styles do not have non-U3 versions, like the SansDisk Titanium style drives.
