But it's nice to see that the school asked for the help to begin with, fixed the holes, and commended him rather than freaking out like I'm sure mine would . . .

I would guess not...did he made that exploit/crack program himself ??
It took three hacking programs less than a second -- 200 milliseconds to be exact -- to find the password to the school's computer, Reid said. It was the school secretary's name: Silvia.

I totally agree!
The key word there is "Kid" - Not Hacker so much as Script Kiddie, but then the media doesn't really know the difference. *Shrug*
What I find truly bizzare is that the Sys-Ad would make the password the name of the School's Secretary. Maybe somebody has a crush ... ^_-
