ah.. i did a 212-Nxx-9901 718-Nxx-9901 516-nxx-9901 631-nxx-9901 scan a few months ago, and was working on 914, and 845 next... have to go back over my notes but i did hear a carrier or fax tone on one of them - and no minutes deducted from the net10 phone (so i assume unsupervised)

@hack.... do your own scans and find your own numbers, posting any numbers worth anything end up with a visit from the secret service.. i know from personal experience, as well as at least one other person i know of from the boards that i frequent..

ya-elevators are fun..I remember a couple years back,ic0n and myself were doing some hand scanning of local numbers from our hotel room at linux fest and he found a sweet ass elevator number that would let you talk\listen.After playing around with it,I found you could change all kinds of stuff in the system..I had the number saved in an old phone that got thrown out when I had to do some time in county jail or else I would drop the number for ya.

216-822-9700 - This was the number of an AT&T rep I was talking to. Try calling it. AT&T trying to sound like they aren't evil is a little funny, but since the number doesn't supe, it's nice for testing whether or not your long distance carrier passes audio before supervision.

To program it, it asks for an access code. I'd say it's 4 digits or less in length since it hung up after I entered 2565. It says it needs a # at the end but it hung up on me before I could enter the #.

Frankly, the audio isn't that clear either. A bit hard to hear what it says till it's repeated sometimes.

Edit : Entering a * to get location info seems to not work now because it kept hanging up. Now you have to enter a 1.
Edit : There's only one elevator and it's number is 1. It's located at 10100 N.E. Prescott, Portland OR. I tried elevator numbers 2-9 but they only get you disconnected.

Also, I did try pressing "0 for all" and spoke. I said I was maintenance. I noted that my voice sounded like it was talking in an empty elevator (for anyone who wants to know).

I must be missing something. I'm dialing through MCI. Sounds pretty normal, 2 *'s disconnects me, and I get a CBCAD recording from an MCI tandem.

In other news, Verizon, as they've done with other weather numbers, has stopped allowing calls from outside the Baltimore area to 410 weather! So far, very few carriers, most notably Qwest and Excel, have or already had arrangements with black routes to circumvent this (check whatever calling options you might have for more), but almost none of them sound good at all. So normally this would really suck, but there's ways around this nastiness. 410-750-9999, for example, will drop you right onto the weather. Unfortunately, you can't hear the extra awesomesauce cool ring that the machine makes, but numbers like these are ridiculously easy to find. Scan a little in the area, and I guarantee you you'll find one that lets you hear ring very quickly.

HA! I think I was half paying attention when I called it the first time. I hear it now.

The tone on the Baltimore time is a little messed up right now. When calling the weather through Sprint, the ring sounds very soft.

I can't reach the Boston weather on 617-936-1212 using Sprint. I get a recording from a Verizon tandem (128A1). On my VZW cell phone, I get an indefinite ring. Those are definitely routing differently.

I recently decided, based on a joke from a friend that someone's number should be 800-EAT-SHIT, to see if there was a number like that.

I scanned a few prefixes in 303 area code and got this one :

303-EAT-SHIT
DTMF decoded, that's :
303-328-7448

This number just rings about 4 times, then disconnects itself. I've called it several times, on different days, at different hours but it only does this and nothing else.

An internet search on this phone # turns up nothing. Neither did 411.
