I found a bunch of toll free numbers today that all go to Windstream's customer service number. They're pretty pointless, but here they are anyway, if you ever don't feel like calling their main number...

866-990-3282
888-292-3827
866-823-1826
800-990-4449
800-347-1991
800-501-1754
800-582-3132

Yes, these all do the same thing....

And for something more interesting, this one puts you right into the call queue. No menus!!!!

828-749-9999 - Carrier, 1200 baud. Couldn't get it to echo/display anything, though.
828-749-9998 - Uhh, self explanitory...
828-650-0453 - Courtesy phone (y'know, the ones where they've got metal over the keypads and speed dial numbers to all the nearby hotels/rental car companies?) at the Asheville, NC airport. It accepts incoming calls, but I'm not sure if it rings or not.
828-650-0454 - Another courtesy phone

You know one of those scans that seems to be going well until you hit, say, your tenth number, and everything all but disappears?

I hate that...

870-287-0000 - Number called not accepting calls rec
870-287-0001 - CBCAD
870-287-0002 - CBCAD
870-287-0005 - Party on your own line rec
870-287-0006 - CBCAD
870-287-0008 - Weird loud ringing-ish sound

For all of you who haven't seen a loop yet, but haven't tried to find one of their own, consider this a "trial" loop - once you're connected, you have thirty seconds to talk before the switch dumps the second caller to silence. Always call 9408 first.

By the way, only DMS-10 loops will act like this. I'm not talking about the time limit, but the way it reacts to certain things. Other switches may (and generally do) act differently.

828-749-9408 - End 1
828-749-9409 - End 2

Edited for clarity.

847-330-9998 - I don't even know what this number is, but the ring it makes is crazy. It rings in a 1-12-123 pattern. I scanned the rest of 330-99xx and didn't really find much else.

IT'S MORRIS CODE: E-I-S is:  dot, dot-dot, dot-dot-dot. Now figure out what "EIS" is? OK?

Thanks to Haxor Radio:
elevator number in a parking garage that has 10 floors:
402-492-9135

Also, 402-492-9134 has a different voice telling you that the call has been disconnected. Anyone know which phone company this is?

This is to active call features like Call Foward Variable remotely. You would enter in your number xxx-xxxx and it would prompt you for an access number xxxx than you could hit *72 to active or *73 to deactive call foward variable.

A bunch of automated book renewal systems for various libraries.

The cool thing is that these can be used as DTMF decoders by playing DTMF tones when it asks for a library card number and then hitting # to hear it read back the input.

You can try finding more numbers like these off the web for your local NPA, I've discovered that they come in two flavors: the DTMF read back kind, and another type that just says "invalid card, try again".

Toll free ones:
