Just got my Magic Jack and my experiments show that when you call a Magic Jack number from an unlisted, cellular, or caller ID blocked number, it still SHOWS UP ON THE MAGIC JACK INCOMING CALL DISPLAY! Magic Jack must be receiving this info (just like incoming calls to toll free numbers are always received by the called party) and passing it onto the Magic Jack subscriber. Sweet!!!

It is a nice toy to play with. I wouldn't use it as my sole phone system, but it is VoIP on the cheap. Quite portable too. If it works for you, great. If not, you're not out a hell of a lot of money.

There is a great unofficial MJ forum if you want to play around with it, especially with sending your calls to a different gateway than the default Nashville, TN one, or to change the outgoing caller ID to whatever you want (by using a Perl script).

too bad it has only limited 3way calling... which is the most important features that i wanted. are they planning to make the 3way calling originate from 1 caller?

Can you tell me what NPA/NXX your MagicJack number is located in? A friend of mine tried it, and even with a program that strips the incoming data, it doesn't show up.
