Im new to ubuntu Iv been using backtrack but decide to switch so does anyone know how to install rt73 drivers. Thanks for the help.

There's a crapload of work going on with those drivers at the moment, remember to check rt2400.serialmonkey.com for updates.

They're in the kernel, try modprobe rt73.

You should really just try searching the Ubuntu Community Documentation. It's quite simple and has nearly EVERYTHING you have asked about ALREADY documented. I think I might have linked you to it in another thread, not sure, but it's easy to find if not.
