How can I rip a movie off a DVD, (compression would be nice but not required), while not taking all the previews and piracy warning and bonus features and other assorted bullshit... just a straight up movie file (preferably one I could then burn and watch on my dvd player)

I'm tired of unskippable ads when I watch my dvds.

first one will cum up go on it and type ConvertXtoDVD if u got a torrent downloader sumtin like u torrent juz download the torrent file and download the ConvertXtoDVD once done tht run the file once u got it open keygen run tht get the key put it in u got a full programme of ConvertXtoDVD and tht is the best out there choose ur video copy converter the same converter will burn the movie on dvd for you

I would skip the BS excuses and just say you want to rip DVDs. Spending time to skip 3 minutes of bullshit makes zero sense. I don't think this really breaks any rules either. He's (supposedly) not setting up some torrent warez kiddie site full of movies. Ripping your own movies is moral and acceptable, unless you actually think the DMCA makes sense. It's called fair use, you paid for the content and you can use it on whatever device you want.

As for the ripping, there are a lot of software packages out there. What you say you want to do is kind of odd though. People don't usually rip DVDs only to burn them back onto DVD. When ripping, you usually encode them at a lower bitrate and higher compression with a codec like xvid. You can then watch them on your computer or capable DVD player. In the past few years, ripping to play on portable devices has become more popular. Same concept, only there will be more restrictions on the codec you'll be able to use (depends on the portable device), resolution and such.

This may help you. On the first page are not only some software packages for ripping, but also several related sites and step by step tutorials with download links and screenshots. If this doesn't do it for you... I just don't know.

I remember I used to use DVD Shrink and its really awesome. It's really simple and you just put in your movie into the drive, run this program, unselect the things you dont want such as those warnings/notices, subtitles(like in other languages) extras....anything, and then if the movie is on a 8.5gb dvd, you can compress it to fit on a standard 4.7gb and usually if you throw away the director cuts and other junk, the quality change is unnoticable.

Again, this program is really simple and easy to use.

You have an attitude problem. For someone claiming to be a hacker, you can barely write coherently. You ask stupid questions like how to get past the login screen on a Vista computer. You obviously haven't heard of pretty much any security tool. You probably think things like being able to cheat at runescape make you "1337".

Convert X to DVD is a transcode program, not a ripping program. It also costs money in the real world, so no ...

DVD Shrink
DVD Decrypter
IMGBurn

No serials, no reg keys, and they work alot better then most ofthe Payware.


If you need some help with them, or need them, hit me up and I have them and alot more I can offer. Not going to post anything here about them out of respect. there are options in these programsthat will help you along the way as to shrinking and burning movies. Like I said I can help, and I see a few others in this thread I know can help you.

Hoping that you wont be pirating this. i am fist going to say that you should make sure that even if you do sell these, because we cant stop you from it we can just suggest, you need to know what happens to you. with that said im going to tell you how to rip and convert a dvd. DvD's are burnt in a .vob format, normally, this is hard for computers to read but easy to rip. Get the program called dvd decrypted. It will rip the dvd in about 5-10 min. Make sure that you check every possible setting that might need to adjusted, like audio you only want reg audio not directors commentary right? Once it is ripped try and play it. hmmm says it is a unknow file extension. Next you'll need another program called auto gk. this program will convert it for you. there are 2 boxes near the top that will want you to input the incoming and out going file. The incoming should be the .vob and outgoing will be something like avi or mpeg. make sure you once again go into advance setting and stuff. Click add job and start, then go to bed. This is going to make EVERY thing avi. Even the welcome menu will be there. it will re write most of the warning in there without breaking any laws.

when i rip a dvd and just want the main feature i use 2 programs. 1 is called anyDVD that automatically bypasses the drm of whatever dvd you have in the drive and then i usually use the divx converter bundle to encode the .vob files right off the disc. if you want to just rip the main feature just find the .vob files on the disk that are the movie only. usually their the largest ones 1gig or more and they go in sequence so tehy are numbered in order like VTS_1_01 VTS_1_02 etc etc you can play each one with vlc player first to see if its part of the movie that you want to include. its really simple to do. i just drag all the .vob files i want to encode right off the disk and drop them into the divx converter nd then let it do its magic theres no need to rip then encode i just do it all in one step right off the disk.

Did you know that DVD Shrink and DVD Secrypter both remove protection, so anyDVD is really not needed ...
