I have brute force installed. I believe if you get the md5 has and dictionary/brute attack can get password, correct me if im wrong. But how do I crack lets say a winrar password on my desktop. I could not find a brute force tuitoral via google. Anyone explain how to use it against winrar's that are on your desktop. Also I am testing out brute force on ftp any help?Test purposes only

Not to mention there is a command line version of WinRAR [I'm pretty sure there's one for windows, too] and there's nothing stopping you from slapping a script together that will do it for you. Granted, it will be far from superb in performance.

as for my experiences with cracking .rar files its not very succesfull. On some local forum we did some kind of contest who will break the rar file faster and as soon as the password was a lil more complicated or long(4+ chars) time needed to crack jumped to the sky and even then mission wasnt always successful, sometimes rar file was useless(tonz of errors) or the password was never found.

Maybe methods and apps are more advance now, but i dont think you'll be very successfull unless you have some serious computing power behind you
