Yup, it looks like the iPhone ALMOST has Super Caller ID. How awesome would it be to show the city and state on incoming calls? I wish cell phones had this from the start, since they don't have Caller ID Name.

On my razer it tells the state and date and time... Only $600 and you can have the same thing as a $200 blackberry except with a slightly different caller id in a sleek pop culture case!

None of the ones I've seen do, neither on T-mo or Cingular.

Who knows? Apple does not like to tell us anything.

Yeah, I mean, all it requires is pulling a list of all used exchanges (which is available for free from NANPA) and just match the incoming npa-nxx digits against that db.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I think it's pretty easy to do off the top of my head; I'll usually memorize the location of an area code the second I find it. As for city, that's pretty handy. Somebody should make a script that SMSes Bell's Mind every time you get an incoming call, though, that'd be leet.

Yeah it seems like they do do it all over the country. I tested east coast and west coast numbers.

On another note, it sounds like Sprint is the only provider that gives the state along with the number. Because I've never heard about that on any other provider except Alltel.

Uh.. what? It pulls the caller's city and state from the npa-nxx field of the incoming number.
