Nice list. Seeing that list reminded me of doing prank faxes back in the day (this was like 1991):

1. write your joke pictures on a fairly long sheet of paper (two or three legal sheets taped together)
2. begin to feed it trough the machine.
3. stop feed, and tape the two ends together, making a loop
4. call number, and hit send

it will loop your prank message over and over.

Write your "joke pictures"?

Anyways, there's a reference book found in most public libraries that lists contact information for a huuge amount of media outlets. I'll stop by the library tomorrow to get the name of it.

What you do is use black paper, so it uses up all of their ink, if its a industrial fax machine it will have a lot of ink, and be very costly.

Because if you get a damm company that sends to spam though a fax machine like 3 times a week and everytime you call them they say they will take you off the list and don't... thats why.

... because they stop really quickly after that. Ironical the company might be selling toner.

Spamming or causing damage to these faxes is just dumb.

Why not get inventive with it? Write a fake (or real) press release and send it out to all of them.

For instance: "Hackers prevent world wide disaster by infiltrating chinese military web sites to alter sensitive information."

Thats a great idea. I am sure they will print anything anyone sends in without confirming it first.

Depends on how juicy the story is... that was an example... but even for this: Who would confirm it? They would just print it as 'Unconfirmed Report have stated that .... "

And if it's a slow dirty laundry day, something like this would get printed to some level...
