I want to find out how can i get peoples ip address. I try that aim direct connect stuff and msn but it doesnt work and that email stuff. Its for educational purpose i dont mean to crash a box.
How can i get other people's ip address?

RTS If its your freind's website that your trying to find IP/Information then just use any WhoIs you want. Keep in mind you wont get that much just from an IP but it can possibly be used as a jumping board.

An easy start for you would be to set up a website you have control over or a box. Then send them a link to a funny picture or item hosted on said site or box. Once you know they visited it go check out the logs. Reading logs is easy even for a beginner and will take you far.

Can i make a geocity page? And what you mean send them a link? Do you mean make a link on my website and ask them to click it?

Well it requires you to have your own server, which I doubt you have. Anywho, if you can't establish a direct connection between you and your target, or them and an IP under your control, there's no way of finding it out. If they emailed you through SMTP, then you could find out. Or if they somehow got a direct connection between you and them, then it work. But not like this.
So really, the best and only way is to ask them.
