I don't want to be picky but whats up with all the .rm's?
I'd like to check out some of the vids but don't really have a viable way to play them.
How bout some divx?

well, I woudl guess that the software sends to RM easily. Being that this is the first time we have started using the cameras, it will take some time to use.

For the record, I HATE REAL and am planning on compressing HackTV with DIVX. But bear with us for now.

I know someone in the Valley who has it and I'll get you in touch w/ them.

Exactly what Stank said - I'm just starting to mess with DV and the editing software that came w/ my 1394 doesn't export to dvix (I think). Real does support the three biggies - windows, Mac and Linux. Are you running BSD?

Mac OS X, which is largely based on FreeBSD, So yeah i suppose i am.

But that's allright, i'm kinda used to being unsupported for varous apps and standards. Hell they just released a compatible DIVX codec awhile back :roll:

Well i just found real's offering for my OS called RealOne player "oooohhhhhh.

And to download all they need is a credit card number :voteno:

Thats right for the low low price of $15 I get a 14 day "free" trial of thier RealOne superpass!!!

All i have to do is cancel before the 14 days are up and it's free :angry:

Needless to say i will not be downloading that piece of shit.

OK, so I have Adobe Premier 6.5 and AAE 5.5 (Adobe After Effects) or at least I have access to it at work.

I ordered a firewire/usb2.0 combo card kit with cables so it should be here (hopefully) before the long holiday weekend. I will then be able to start digitizing the footage I already have, and begin learning how to use the software.

I will see if any of my "play" footage is useful (from the race) and start making "real" footage.
