I know a few people on the board already have/have tried out Vmware, but I just got around to it so I though I’d post how cool it is.
I got both Mandrake, and a hard disk install of Knoppix running. (Didn’t even need to burn a CD for knoppix as it emulated the iso as a cd drive.)
It has a lot of features for controlling what devices etc you want the virtual OS to use, along with different ways to configure the network interface. I even got ettercap running on it.
Also you can select to not save any changes made to the virtual OS while in use - useful stuff.
