In one search log, terms such as "how to tell your family you're a victim of incest," "casey middle school," "surgical help for depression," "can you adopt after a suicide attempt," "Fishman David Dr - 2.6 miles NE - 160 E 34th St, New York, 10016 - (212) 731-5345," "gynecology oncologists in new york city," and "how long will the swelling last after my tummy tuck" appeared in the set of data.

This happened with the IRS in around 2000, but it was nothing beyond what was in the Yellow Pages (name, address, phone, etc.)

This is one of dozens of cases you will hear about. This lady took it better than the old guy I talked to.
http://news.com.com/...098.html?tag=nl

I tied together the ID# and a name for one person in (edited on second thought), went to the pay phone and told them I found them using data AOL released and zabasearch. They called me a sicko with nothing better to do, but I was only trying to help. :(

No, I won't be saying anything more about this couple. I will say a good place to start is uncommon last name searches then correlating the user ID # of people searching multiple times for that. Old people love geneology.

I'm sorry but with this modern day "terrorist" witch hunt and shit I wouldn't have done that. Yeah WE understand what you did, but some 60 somethings from bums filed, idaho dont understand this shit.

I disagree. That would be doing what 'they' (whoever they is) want us to do. Sure, i wouldn't call someone from my home phone saying :"Hey i'm XYZ and i found your docs and lots of dirty stuff on you because of AOL". But he called from a payphone, and i suppose he was polite and everything. He did nothing wrong.

Kinda like reporting a security bug to some company. Most here would agree it's a good thing to do, while i suspect most would report it anonymously (well, i would).

i just found an id that moraless develops what ive come to determine as an AOL search movie.
Starts with age of loss of virginity, then with stds, then with contraveptives, then with pain after, then early symptons of pregnany, then gynos, then how to tell her boyfriend, how to tell her parents, how to leave her house, how to make her family leave, how to stay skinny.... goes on FOREVER.
I hope this wasnt a teen -_-

AOL sent me five bills for their shitty dialup service. I called them and complained, "I do not have your service and never have." I thought it was straightened out, but apparently that address is still receiving bills from AOL. It's funny. What a bunch of bastards. I guess they hope someone will just give them money to stop the mail!

How low do you have to go to be in business these days? AOL is about as low as it gets.

Remember, the unique ID is unique. It's still a major invasion of privacy. A lot of docs were dropped anyway, despite their ingenious plan of using unique IDs! I've had so much trouble with AOL in the past, I never trusted them in the first place. And now this?

Yuck :(.
