Just got off the con and was inspired to do a little googling on loop lengths. It seems that the average loop is 10,000 to 12,000 feet.
"12kft average loop length"
"in the Bell system, the average length is almost 10,800 ft (2.0 mi)"
The last quote is over 10 yrs old.

Is that the length without, say an amplifier on the line somewhere in the middle, but still, niced find.
