I need a little info.

What's a good wardialing program for a beginner?

Second, do you need a phone line, or can a cable/DSL connection also be used to wardial?

wardialing simply needs a dialtone, thus the ability to dial out. You can get that from a normal phone line or a DSL line. You *will* need a modem to dial out with.
