"Hacking" TV show from Kevin Rose of TechTV:

Its got a very slick title sequence, however notice how they carefully refrain from actually connecting to any networks / cracking WEP keys.

I saw it aboitu a week ago, someone sent me the link voa email. it was really only 1 decent skit...wardialing. the warez thing was a joke and the pizza thing is just "how to be a thief" which I didnt care for. the wardialing didnt really show anything.

the video quality was great though!

That was pretty good, I especially liked the first drink of beer segment . I hope the show gets more advanced though.

Shit, I liked it (if you can believe it). Those guys are giving out information and just having fun, more power to em. Hopefully in the future they'll move away from the "free pizza" stuff and get more into the bits and bytes, but I'll be there for the next ep.

Edit: And hell yes, anybody who starts a show by drinking immediately goes on my good list lol

1st 5 minutes: your typical public access tv show aire to it, with a touch of technical flair.

content: decent, (its not admin/admin, theres no user name, but just admin as the password), but still of no real value. what was said could of been picked up easily online.

Conclusion: now i did bash this show, and i know its not really something like what HackTV can and will be, but still, they made asses of thereselves(which they do on TV anyways). This show is for all those people that watch TechTV that dont have a clue about hacking, and this is the means to show those people something that isn't completely fabrcatied.

Regardless of the content.. Kevin & Derek is providing people with information that they might not get anywhere else. The whole social engineering skit was just a means to show people what social engineering is. Getting free pizza is an easy way to start learning how to "social" although I don't believe in being a theif. The warez skit was a joke, and if you thought they were serious, punch your self in the face twice. The war driving skit was enjoyable.

This video zine is no different then anyone elses text zine. Their heart is in the right place. And it's another means of gaining information.

i liked it man
i was just a bit confuzzled at the juarez skit......i don't think its all that unprobable that they heard binrev radio and thought to make fun of that dude with the "juarez". anyway, i thought it was enjoyable.....altho i would punch kevin rose for fucking that laptop up, not all of us have a laptop.

Stank: got ya loud and clear, definitely something else......well, maybe except for the beer but yeah, the difference between this and hacktv would be best explained thru an analogy:

2600 is to phrack as thebroken is to hacktv

and what i want to emphasize is that hacktv should be much more technical than this thing...i mean they really didn't touch on anything truly "underground"

well, as long as we are on that topic...

I talked to saitou today and we worked out the details of the first sketch, both content wise, and technically. It will be very detailed, but also be very funny at the same time. He also gave me approval to put up the pilot episode, which i will do soon.

I think it is time to move this to the hacking media forum, so after this post, i will move it.

I wish! I have 1 laptop, that I only got within the past year. All of my machines are home-built from parts. Some of them ARE for parts.

lol, i have so much dumpster dived parts, well, none of them really work, but i just cant throw this shit away, and its shit, they're all broken but i just dont have the heart to throw out these parts.....anyway space is definetely becoming an issue so i will be throwing some stuff out......
