It seems that the folks at mci like dicking with the phone system as much as we do!
They 've been accused of stripping ani info and other call routing data from long distance phone calls to save money. the story is here

I was on the SoCal loop last night and we called up MCI a few times. We kept asking them to place a long distance call to a CLEC, but to send a local number as psuedo ANI so the CLEC gets fucked out of their money. The operator just kept saying "what, sir, I don't unerstand".

lol, too bad they wouldn't connect you.
i wonder how they had it set up. did they automatically alter random calls or just purposely misconfigure certain lines ?
