hey, im going to be adding a test-number search to my site, so if anyone has anything, post it here or something so i can add numbers. i might accept other phoneco related numbers too, but it depends, so if you have any cool numbers (not pbx's pr0n or anything, i mean telco related crap) post em here or pm them to me, and add your name if you want credit.

edit: itll be searching by area code until i can code up one that searches test type.
therefore, numbers should be formatted as

NPA:NXX-XXXX Testtype

i.e. 914:732-8211 ANAC
(to make it easier on me adding them)

The UK is really simple (this is all for BT lines, I don't have an NTL/TW line so I don't know how those work).

17070 - general BT line test, ringback, quiet line, etc (some features need BT engineer mobile number?)
175 - ringback, certain tests available like dial pulse and DTMF test among other things.
I did have BT's security number (it's printed on a sign stapled to my local exchange's door) but I have lost it - it is an 0800 i think.
Not test numbers but can be interesting nonetheless:

144 - BT chargecard
131 - mercury pinless, load of beeps on my line
132 - mercury pin - 1234567 is a test pin and directs you to an ancient recording from cable and wireless (or clueless and witless for some people) as it has a non working 0500 number as well as local, long-distance and national rates - for the majority of BT residential customers these don't exist anymore, flat-rate is the norm). Whether you can signup for this service I don't know. Apparently npower or tiscali now owns this.

I do have recordings of some of these numbers and can record them if anyone from the US / other countries would like to hear them (no you can't dial 011-44-17070)

This is not an exhaustive list of test numbers, these are the ones I know. If there are anymore, please post (I believe there is an 01/02 number to access 17070 but it's a secret).

(That does include the directory enquiries set which I think has around 600 numbers in it - out of a space of 1,000). The full list can be downloaded from Ofcom for people who want them.

While there are many indirect access codes, there aren't all that many test numbers (as far as I know)

That list also shows that 131/132 are still owned by C&W. I thought tiscali owned it..

It's good to see some British Phreakers, I've been studying phreaking for a few years. I'm not sure that the British phreaking community is very large here. What do you guys think? Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places but I've not really seen many Phreakers from the UK and it appears to be more of an American thing.
