heh i went with knoppix 3.2...now i gotta figure out how to install it to the hd...knoppix provides the worst documentation ever... bland some sources said you might know how...or i need a link to do it own my own

okay having probs with my cdrom drive i tried to m0ount it but i get these errors
mount: special device /dev/cdromroms/cdrom/0 does not exist
and
warning: no final newline at the end of etc/fstab

heres my etc/fstab for the cd rom
/dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,ro 0 0
i got it working
i had to mount /dev/cdrom and then the drive was accesed through /cdrom
sleep...
/dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,ro 0 0

Kewl ragweed! Try them all out.
Let me just say that, SuSE, Redhat and Mandrake will have a much easier
installer. Try FreeBSD, once you have it running FreeBSD will be much easier,
mainly because of the wonderful ports and package system that allow you to
install software. Otherwise the two systems are 90% the same to the user but
FreeBSd is a total operating system unlike Linux which is just a bunck of software
thrown together.
If you decide to use FreeBSD make sure you read the Hanbook. Pretty much all
the info you will require is there, and step by step instructions.

heh forgot to tell everyone i got it going. i reinstalled. and then did mount /dev/cdrom and then /cdrom showed up working
