First things first, have you made sure to have burned the CD as an ISO IMAGE? When you browse the contents of the CD, is there just one large file or more than one? Also, what Linux distribution did you download, and did you make sure to download the PowerPC edition?

well i used the built in iso burner. when i explore the cd there are 7 icons(3 files, 2 folders, 1 icon pic, and an index.html), and i got it from Knoppix. ok i looked in the faq and it said if it won't boot from cd to look into the macs BIOS and it says to do that i have to push the "delete" key during the RAM test, uhhh, so does anyone know when this "RAM test" occurs? and i have no clue if i download the PowerPC edition, anyway to check? MY GOD I WISH THIS WAS A WINDOWS BOX!!!

When a computer first boots it does some test on the system to make sure it works. One of the tests is a ram test. To boot from cd on a mac you hold down c while booting until after the system chime I think. As far as delete to get into bios I am not sure but it is most likley the same way.
