The 2600 meeting this January. Supposedly alot of people are going.

I am proposing a new plan for the NYCBinRev meets:

Let's all meet up at the 2600 meeting. And let's keep doing that until we have enough people who will actually show up on the 3rd Friday of the month.

So next binRev meet will be at this week's 2600 meet at the Citigroup Center.

I-baLL and myself were the only ones at the meet yesterday. Aside from looking at random books in the book store there, we were trying to think of ways to get more people to come. I'm going to make some nice looking br212 business cards to pass around at the next 2600 meeting. Hmm... Maybe I'll droplift the cards at computer stores in the area as well. Hopefully there will be a bigger crowd next time.

Why don't you guys email 411@binrevmeetings and set up a site and get the word out? There are a lot of tips on the 407 page and the 411 page (more coming soon) on getting people to show up.

It's hard having planned presentations for a meeting of 3 people. Hopefully more people will start to arrive in the future.

Not really. I have done it lots of times.

You have to give new people a reason to come. Show them that you are doing something, or at least trying to do something, and they might be more interested in coming.

There are 2 keys to successful meeetings, IMO:

• provide content. This means something above general chit-chat.
• communication. Specifically of those plans and ideas to get more people to come. Spread the word.

I'm working with ZeroDB on getting the site up and am currently picking out which CMS to use for it. Once that goes up maybe we'll put some info on discussions and whatnot.

Uhm, I still haven't messaged ZeroDB the site info cause I've been busy.

Anyways, I forgot to point out that this month's BinRev meeting coincides with the HOPE Number Six planning meet so we'll probably have more than a few people there. And that's a good thing.
