I am leaning towards this model. It is a good balance of resonable price but powerful features. I chose this one over lower JVC models b/c it has higher still picture resolution and I am planning on it doubling as a still picture cam.

Let me know how it works. I'm upgrading my box for digital video now - bigger hard drive, 1394, fast internal burner - then the camera.

Lucky you... if your bored im asking for a laptop for christmas.. any model year.. just want to run linux on it..

I wanted to do a little more research before placing the order, but JVC had the best buy for the money with the features that I wanted.
