I'm trying to use it with GAIM. It's not working. I'm logged in, but everyone I try to IM or add to my list it says they are not Authorized or something.

Could everyone send me a message?

The reason for this, i believe, is that unlike AIM, when you add someone to your "buddy list" you must first be authorized by them before you can send them messages. When someone adds you to their list you recieve a message requesting authorization for them to add you.

Ive been using alot with my roommates and friends, The quality is pretty good with very little delay at all. Does anyone know how you would do a confrence call on this besides having everyone conected to everyone else.

I really do like the UI for the Windows Client. And yes, the Gaim Jabber plugin DOES work. If it isnt for you, make sure you have entered the correct settings.

i've only used it on Adium (mac). it uses libgaim, so i'm assuming it has the same feature set as gaim. are there any clients out there besides the google talk windows client that has the voip and video functionality?

uh sorry if this sounds a bit n00bish, but how do I get a gmail account?  I looked all over the site and didnt see anywhere to register.

There's two ways to get gmail, which as you know is needed for gtalk. The first is to be invited, the second is New Account ( www.google.com/accounts/newaccount
