OpenHack 4: The Hacking Has Begun. OpenHack 4, is part of eWEEK.com's ongoing evaluation of enterprise security under real-world conditions. Today they launched their 'Come and Hack Our Box' at 8 a.m. PDT. They are inviting ALL HACKERS and fun loving security professionals to attempt to crack the OpenHack site, home to applications written and hardened by Microsoft and Oracle. As of 9:56 a.m. PDT, the site was humming with 1,216 concurrent connections and 51 incoming packets per second.

Tee hee... and the SecurityNewsPortal.com will give a genuine SNP coffee mug to the first person who hacks that publicity seeking box and plants a picture of the SNP's drunken hamster on it ;) But no prizes if you hack eWeek.com's real web site ;)

This should be Fun. let's see if the DDP can take this one down. whaddya say boys?

Prizes: There are five categories of attack and associated prizes: (1) defacement of an Openhack web site, prize to winner of $1,000; (2) view the source code for a dynamically generated Openhack page; prize to winner of $1,000; (3) successfully deploy cross-script attack; prize to winner of $500; (4) obtain credit card information hidden in the Openhack application; prize to winner of $1500; and (5) post a malicious SQL Command; prize to winner of $1,000. Denials of service attacks do not count as viable attacks and will not be considered in adjudicating winners.

Well, that challenge seems out of my league, but I already got up shouts to DDP a while back on this box http://hack.datafort...vel1/index.html

Here are some other *easier* hacking challenges to try:

Yeah, but this one PAYS!

I will hammer at it when I get time. Just 4 the challenge. We can put the money towards other DDP projects. Maybe some shirts, some stickers, etc... Hell even a server to host all of our sites on!
