Was just looking at the pic of Dual's desktop and I have a couple questions. What's running on it? OS, windowing system, etc. The other question is how to get the way cool transparent XMMS skin?

The wallpaper's kinda cool too.....

That particular box is running Mandrake 9.0, GNOME 2.0, and IceWM. You can get the skin, m2n v1.0, here. IceWM is really fast and really fun.

edit: removed uneeded mat.

Excellent. Thanks for the link. Here's a question: Have you used KDE? And if so, what is it about Gnome that you think is better? I have very little experience with it.

I have used KDE, up to about 3.0.4. It's great for transitioning from windows. Now, I prefer GNOME with another wm. I haven't made my own skins, although I think it would be cool to try.

I like metacity these days, its pretty much the new replacement for sawfish and has some pretty sweet themes. If ya want more themes: http://art.gnome.org

One thing I would like to get into is createing my own themes for IceWM.. but fist I need some good working hardware instead of this borroed-use XPPro lappy.. something I can reload at will. :(
