Thought a Sys Admin job would be like a rockstar. This is hard work - but learning something new everyday (mostly trial by fire)

Windows Server and Exchange are really goofy.. Cannot see why someone would want cloud-based Exchange over Google Corporate Services. :-$

Yeah, but you only have two of the four food groups (sugar and caffeine) covered. Where's the starch and salt? I recommend popcorn or potato chips (or try both together).

You can't write effective code on an unbalanced diet.

Pizza. Frozen, but it covered veggies, dairy, and stuffed crust.

I had to be double sure on the caffeine thing.

Got my first pair of reading glasses. The good news - I can read and type w/o half guessing what I'm reading/typing. The bad news- I'm wearing reading glasses. :-$

You'll get used to it. I've had glasses since about third grade and I'm blind as a bat without them. For historic reference, that was around the time Evan was pulsing New York on a payfone in Asheboro's new DMS100, through their old Pentaconta tandem without leaving any toll record.

When someone jibs on elance: don't give them the source code, and search for someone else looking for the same thing - change the company name, and sell it for more. Lesson: company names in code should always be a CONSTANT that is easy to edit quickly.

Up all night learning Ruby. Top 5 reasons I dumped Python and Perl for Ruby: 1 - Knowing one language well is better than being literate in two 2 - Perl sucks on Windows. Ruby does not, and Windows is still used in the work place more than any other O/S 3 - Great OOP implimentation in Ruby 4 - Python is great for having standard libraries in a default install. But the implemnation sucks! (DO I want to learn Python 2.X or Python 3.x? Should I use httplib? urllib? or urllib2) 5 - Perl is pr...
